CARA C. Wilson, PH.D.

  • For more than 40 years I have been providing mental health services in a variety of settings, including private practice, counseling centers, schools, first responder agencies, and nursing homes.  My approach is focused on my clients, working with them to assess their needs, developing a treatment plan, and providing services in an accepting, nonjudgmental manner.

I know that the decision to make changes and pursue counseling can sometimes be difficult, and it is my goal to provide an environment where my clients feel comfortable exploring issues and feelings that may be uncomfortable for them.  Facing challenges, developing skills, and creating a more positive and hopeful direction are among the goals that clients bring to therapy, and we work on their individual goals together.

I am committed to continually updating my knowledge and skills to provide the best psychological services possible for my clients.  My practice style is flexible depending on client preferences and presenting issues.  Our first session would include a discussion of what brings you in at that time and how we might work together to address your concerns.
